Print Avery Shipping Labels One Label at a Time; Re-feeding Labels

If you are going to be printing one label at a time on Avery Shipping Labels with two labels on a page, you will need to rotate the label sheet and re-feed it to use the other label. Printers usually have an icon to show whether your printer will print on the face or the back side of a sheet, so check that first to be sure you're printing on the correct side of the label sheet.

To be sure you're rotating the sheet correctly, you can use a sheet of plain paper as a test sheet.  Here's how:

  1. Mark a 1 and a 2 on a piece of paper where each label appears on the label sheet
  2. Print the first label on the test sheet to be sure it prints on the side of the sheet with the 1
  3. Rotate the sheet (remember which direction you're feeding) and insert it to print the second label
  4. If the second label is printed on the half of the paper with the 2, you've rotated correctly and will be printing in the right place. If not, re-test with a different rotation until you can print both labels successfully

Notes:

  • Re-feeding will work best if the edge leading into the printer has a label.
  • Run the sheet through the printer a maximum of two times.
  • If you're using weatherproof or waterproof labels, only print them once.

Here's a quick video that walks through the steps:
