Not Printing in Color but Preview Shows Color, Black and White Print

If project is printing in black and white and it should be in color, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. If you are using Google Chrome as your browser, be sure that in the Chrome PDF that Color selected in the Color drop-down menu and not Black and White. See image below:



2. If printing from Firefox, Explorer, or Microsoft Edge, make sure the Print in grayscale (black and white) box is unchecked. See image below:
 3. Go to your Control Panel on your computer and go to Printer & Devices.  Under Image Options make sure that black and white is unchecked.
4. Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader and select File and Print to open your print dialog box and try the following steps:
  • Make sure that Print in grayscale is unchecked
  • Select Properties and click Advanced and make sure that Print all text as black is disabled
  • Check if Adobe Reader needs to be updated by selecting Help and Check for Updates and reboot the machine after updating

5. Make sure that your printer driver and firmware are up to date. Refer to your printer manufacturer's website for information on updating and installing drivers.
