Dark Fabric Transfers - Ironing and Heat Press Instructions; 3279

For Dark Transfers, the image does NOT need to be mirrored or reversed for printing.  After you have your design printed on your dark transfer paper, cut around the design, but leave a grab tab for easier peeling later (see the video below).  When you're ready to iron:

1. Make sure your iron has no water in it and turn off steam setting.

2. Preheat your iron to a high / cotton setting.

3. Use a surface that absorbs heat, such as a wooden table.  Do not use ironing boards or counters.

4. Put a towel on your ironing surface and then place your T-shirt on top of it, iron out any wrinkles.

5. Peel off the back of the transfer paper.

6. Place the transfer paper on your T-shirt (so that your design is facing up).

7. Cover the transfer paper with the tissue included with your product.

8. Begin ironing your transfer paper onto your T-shirt using heavy pressure.

o    The amount of time you should be ironing varies by the size of the label that's being ironed:

         §  Full sheet: 2 minutes

         §  1/2 sheet: 1 minutes

         §  1/4 sheet: 40 seconds

 9. Allow the transfer to cool for 2 - 3 minutes with the tissue still on

10. Carefully peel off the tissue, if the transfer lifts, try reapplying the iron-on steps.

11. Before wearing your T-shirt, wash it inside-out in cold water with a mild detergent and then allow it to dry by laying it flat or by applying low heatNote: If using a Glitter Fabric Transfer, make sure to wait 24 hours before washing. This will allow the glitter to shimmer and sparkle more.

12. Do not use any fabric softener while washing, as this may cause the transfer to fade, crack, or peel.

Heat Press Settings for dark t-shirt transfers:

·       Temperature: 320°F (160°C)

·       Pressure: Light - Medium

·       Time: 30 - 45 seconds

Avery Fabric Transfers are guaranteed to look good after 20 washes, when applied and washed according to instructions.
